Default Flashing red reverse light ..what does this mean????grizz 450

Has anyone had there Grizz while riding or idling have the reverse shifter light start flashing ..I cut the switch off and back on it will stop..and everything seems normal..It did this to me at WV when my 450 went to bogging cutting out would not rev up..I been thinking its in the fuel,carb..But maybe its electrical.
After cleaning the carb fuel system and not finding anything ...I went for a spin and while idling good it just shut off so I cranked it back up and the reverse light while I was in hi range go forward started flashing ran ok this time..I shut the ign switch off and back on it went away...the engine was not hot..Has anyone did the reverse limiter mod removal..if so is there a link..
what code is the reverse light flashing on a 07 450 grizz..it blinks fast constant when it did it..

I have the same question myself. My 660 also does this once in a blue moon kill it or change gears and it stops. Wonder what it means? O_o

Sounds like the reverse/neutral switch/sensor is going out. It will cause the reverse lite to come on or flicker and the reverse rev limiter to kick in. It will cause the same problems you are having on the 660s 550s and 700s. I imagine it's the same for the 450.

Yea I hate the little button..dont seem to work half the time..Did you just ground the blu/white wire to your - ground on battery...This acting up can cause havoc out on the trail when trying to climb a hill and can't roll back or turn around..

That button is just for the difflock revlimiter overide. Also under the gas tank there is a cluster of wires. look in your book which one is the ground and just put the wire around a bolt and perminetly ground it to the frame.

That is an indication of to many rpms. Did you rev the engine up when in neutral? If you did this and it went too high (which is not high at all) then that light will come on and blink until you turn it off and then back on. Once this over rev switch is turned on it will only go off by resetting it( turning off power then back on). Mine did it a few times before I got the AMR CDI since then it hasn't happened.

the rev limiter should cause the blinking light when in park or neutral. however the reverse switch is also a known problem. sometimes a new switch fixes it, but other times a simple adjustment of the shift linkage will cure it also.
i would do the reverse limiter override
02 - 03 Reverse OR
the link is for a 660, but should be very similar for a 450.
next time your bike does this, hit the button and see if it clears up.
i believe there is an updated version of the reverse switch that has a slightly longer "pin" in the middle
