Secondary Spring and shim
Ok I'm going to install a 1.5mm shim to compensate for the larger tires(I'm guessing that would be the right size). Where can I purchase the shim?
While I'm in there what about replacing the secondary spring too? Then what color and what will changing the spring do for me?
And one other thing When doing this what about having a machined sheave. What is the outcome after this is done? Who can do the work?
I know, I know, A lot of questions but I sure could use the advise.

Crawlfish the man you need to talk to is Coop45, he can do the machine work and answer all your questions about the benefits of all he does. He does great work and will tell you what the benefits are for each item you want done!

I'm thinking of doing the same on my 660. I want a little more grunt out of the hole with the 27's on it.

Yes addiing the shim will help with your 27 inch tires. You will loose some top end speed with the shims.
If I was you, I would just try the shims first. 27's arent that big for the 700 clutching. It will spin those tires good. Now, if your wanting more clutching then change the secondary spring to an orange spring. The stiffer springs helps keep you in a lower gear longer. Changing the roller weights in the primary change the shift points (changes your RPMs for shifting).
a machined clutch is kinda like the shim mod. It just a better way to properly clutch your bike. Also with machining, they can add some top end speed back that you loose with larger tires and clutching. Coop45 and Adam with Airdam are the two best people. I personally use Adam since I have gotten to know him and he has done my
bike and several other for me.

Thanks for the help! just trying to figure this out. I think that trying the shim first idea is a good idea because I want to get out for a ride soon and will be able to have a gauge to compare.

I have a 700 and installed the Gold secondary spring, 4 stock weights with 4 kodiak 450 weights and a 2mm shim mod. Geared it way low... I run 589's which is a heavy tire. I ordered 500 rpm stall springs, kept the gold secondary and the roller weights. I backed the shim mod down to 1.5mm and now couldn't be happier!!! It's a beast.. I had a 02 660 S.E and had a orange secondary, 4-450 and 4-660 weights, 500 rpm stall springs and 1.5 shim mod. I ran 28" 589's on it also and could wheelie pretty easy.
