I use a uni filter, so far no problems at all. Make sure ot use a good oil, PJ1 makes some real good stuff, super tacky. If you do get the PJ1 oil, make sure to get their cleaner as well, as soap and water doesnt dissolve the oil that well. Sure you could get both from atv outfitters or rockymountainatv.

So Ray, I guess them desert racers just switch out them K&N filters when they get in the dust, only use them on the street course?

K&N here as well, not dust or dirt pass it ever.

Dave the twin air foam filters have worked great for me on the rides in white haven and ssrt. Plenty of crap on the outside but nothing on the inside. You can get them for like $16 each at Dennis Kirk and pick up the PJ1 kit with the cleaner and foam filter oil.

I personally would go with foam. Cheap to swap out (can get 2-3 filters for the price of one, good to have a spare) and it has been proven that pleated cotton/paper filters let in more dirt/dust then foam filters.
