I have a 2011 450eps. To test this I sit still in the driveway with the engine running & turn wheels back & forth, then I kill the engine & do the same, you instantly notice the difference. Now, I will say that the wheels turn harder when sitting still than when the bike is rolling, but that is to be expected. Too bad they don't have a machine running that you could test out. I can't imagine the Kodak (which is supposed to be the same machine) being that different. Something sounds fishy here??

He may have his models confused (dealer) ... the Grizzly 550, 660, 700's are different machines ... the confusion may be with the whole US/Canada 450's.
The US Grizzly 450 is the exact same bike as the Canadian Kodiak 450 ... there are no Canadian Grizzly 450's. The only difference is the name on the side, and perhaps a reflector or twelve. Hell, I've even got Grizzly 450 parts on my Kodiak 450 (body and suspension).

My 700 works while sitting still. Otherwise it would be a bitch to turn from
A stop. The wifes also works from a stop. Wonder if this is something on the new grizz

550/700 are the same. You can use parts off either machine. Just different size engines.

P/S does not work when sitting still on any Yamaha atv, 450 Grizzly and Kodiak are identical except badging.
I had a Polaris 550, p/s was active when key is turned on and I preferred this system. However, after saying that, the Polaris build quality is absolutely horrible and there was a lot of slop in steering. Yamaha build quality is excellent but I do prefer Polaris p/s.

My 2011 Kodiak 450EPS has adjustable shocks and side reflectors, Grizzly doesn't, also the power steering seems to work when stopped. when EPS is working properly the light is off.

All Yamaha 450/550/660/700's have adjustable shocks, and likely so does every quad they make.
The reflectors seems to be a non US govt requirement though (govt mandates them in Canuckistan)
sent from my incredibly annoying smartass phone.

In 2011 they changed the frame, shocks to non adjustable & added eps that works when you are at a complete stop to the 450 Grizzly. So, one more time, on the 450eps Grizzly we have NON-adjustable shocks & EPS that WORKS when you are sitting still with the engine running. WHEW!!
