Default Warn XT25 or RT30 for 700?

I'm debating which winch I should pickup for my new 700 grizz. My usual riding doesn't see any ridiculous mud pits and nothing insanely aggressive here in NJ. I'm looking to purchase a plow setup to go along with the winch. I don't want to completely break the bank since I'm going to buy a plow/mount as well.

Will the 2500lb suffice in most scenarios? Do I need the 3000lb? I like the idea of synthetic after some research, but the XT30 is pretty pricey. So, what are your thoughts... 2500lb synthetic or 3000lb steel? Is the XT30 worth the price tag?

The only difference I am aware of in the Warn XT25 and the Warn XT30 is the thicker gauge power and ground cables on the XT30. I have found my XT25 with a snatch block more than I have ever needed. I do highly recommend the rope over the steel cable. It is safer if it ever breaks and easier to repair in the field than the steel cable.

I agree with Timmi. The only difference between the 30 and a 25 is the gauge of wire running to the winch itself. Now the XT30 does come with the wireless remote which is a nice feature but it can be added to any Warn winch.

I have the XT25 and its been more than enough for me. I carry a snatch block just incase I need a little extra pulling power.

Sounds like the XT25 is the way to go - Just wanted to get a few opinions before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

If you can get the wireless remote, that is a definite plus! I would advise getting a snatch block, also. It can add much leverage to your winch.

I have the XT30... it's nice but I have to admit, more than I need on a 700.
But I would do it again too!
