Since you brought it up, I have been doing a little research for a friend who is also interested in picking one up. I think for your "best bang for the buck" value, I would have to recommend a Stag Arms model 8 for a piston gun or Stag models 1,2,or3 for best value DI gun...
My local gunshop allows people to make payments which may be a viable option for you to look into - its possible one of your local shops will do the same. Shop around, you should be able to find a dealer selling them below MSRP
Stag Arms - Worldwide Leader In AR Manufacturing
Good luck with your decision - get one while you still can!
HCS, I will post up my thoughts on the scope as soon as I get a chance to dial her in!

Thanks for the link, I been researching them a little lately. May just have to tacticalize (is that a word?) my SKS for now. Still got lots, and lots of ammo for it.
Just spent some coin on a EDC gun, but that's another thread.

Looking good HardCore!
for postin'
I am curious, how is the camo holding up on the R-15?
Is it just a "shrink wrap" type of covering, or is it dipped?

Gratz Slinger.
these things are alomst as bad as a grizz as far as being mod hungry. although most mods are a lil cheaper, lol.
Sas,
The camo is dipped and very durable. there is only a little place on the mag well thats showing a bit of wear.

It's a Double Star, they're made in Kentucky. I got a good deal on it. It was never fired. Guy bought it and never got around to use it. He just recently had a bout with skin cancer and unloaded all his rifles and shotguns. The money I saved upfront, I can use for mods.
