Depends on the terrain your riding. I have mine on my helmet cause when I mount it to the quad the trails are so rocky here it shakes real bad. If the trails are dirt and you go over a few rocks it aint so bad on the quad, just remember if you mount it to the quad every time your quad goes up over rocks or climbing out of a mud hole you will be filming alot of sky. I also like it on my helmet so I can just walk around and it shoots whatever I am looking at.

X2 on what Butch said. I say mount it on your helmet, the body is a good shock absorber, so you will get nice clear video. Also will record anything you look at, like mentioned.

x3 on helmet mount.
You have at least 2 options here: Top mount (TM) or Side Mount (SM).
TM is good for genereal filming, where scenery or anything around You is a subject of Your filming but not You.
SM is better for filming and action involving You also. The SM has small disadvantage - cause very often visor or other part of the helmet is cutting some of the viewing area, but on the other hand the viewer is able to see some action with You in it. This will show better the terrain, how difficult or fun it was by showing Your body, hands on the bars and front part of the quad.
I hope You got the point.

Yep helmet cam is the best I have found so far.
I did put a mount low on the front of the bike just to see how it looked on my straigth flat trails. The video came out great but it was a little bouncy when I got in the rocks and rutty roads.
I also found a neat little chest rig so the vid will show arms and handle bars as well. I havenet had a chance to ride with it yet but took it for a spin on the lawn mower and It looks pretty cool.
