Large spring 2012 ride building
Hello...All
There is a group of some locals here in SC that is planning an April 12-15, 2012 riding trip back to the Ashland area of WV. What began as a small number has turned into 19-20 as of today. We have some of Skyland's properties reserved.
I hope that some of the GR's might be in the area that same weekend. Keeter and a few others are there most anytime. I have not read any posts about a possible GR group ride back to the Ashland/Crumpler/Wagonwheel area yet. Keeter let me know if you or any that you know might be there and let's get together and ride some.
Our group will include several fathers and sons that have not ridden WV before (all are very experienced riders, just not in WV) and several of us that have ridden WV many times. We are planning to ride the Outlaw Trail and all three H/M Trails if the Pocahontas is open, if not then the Indian Ridge, The Connector, and Pinnacle Creek.
Where ever you ride, ride safe...MD

Butch our dates were selected by two schools in the area. It is their spring break week. We have three fathers and sons pairs that are looking forward to the WV riding experience. They come from a Motorcycle Enduro/Woods Racing club I'm a member of and they all have 4 wheelers also.
I have incouraged several of them to bring their bikes also for some additional rides up on the Indian Ridge trail up behind the Ashland Campground when time permits.
Right now the only thing for sure is hamburger basket supper and a cool belly washer at Riders Paradise on that Thursday around 6 or 7pm.
If we miss the group, there will always be another time...MD

James it will be great to have you there if possible. The guys that may be bringing their dirt bikes will probably be for a back-up ride or just short rides when they can fit them in and probably not rode on the longer daily group rides. They understand all about the creek crossings that wouldn't be the best choice for the dirt bikes.
But as you know, you are always welcome if you can make it there anytime we are there...MD

KEETER They have been invited and they know the dates, that is about all I can do.
I hope you will be there, It will be great to ride the other areas of the Outlaw Trail that we are not too familiar with and you could be the trail boss.
We will be arriving on Thursday April 12th around 11-12 noonish and plan to ride the OT until time for the hamburger basket at Jerry's Paradise. What is the probability that you will be in the area that day and the rest of the weekend?
I rode with Eddie (edeuce) and Rick (SCTH1) recently and they have been invited, but I have not heard anything from them yet...MD

THX KEETER, I will let some of the guys know that we will have a certified, registered, true blue, bottoms up guide for the Outlaw Trail. We are staying up the other mountain at Skyland. Joe has always been real good to us.
We can work out the details as we get closer to the blast off date. Thanks again, my friend...MD
